Irene Nakatudde

Dr. Nakatudde is a paediatrician with more than five year’s experience in clinical care and research at the Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University. Her current research focus is on infectious diseases, particularly HIV and antiretroviral therapy (ART) and how exposure to these affects children’s growth and development. She is skilled in protocol writing, clinical trials and observational studies coordination and management, training, coaching and mentoring junior health professionals.
She is a member of the Uganda Paediatric Association and a paediatrician at VENRO Health Care, an organisation whose main aim is to increase accessibility to health information and health care.
Dr. Nakatudde has a Masters in Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health, Masters in Public Health with a Global Health focus and a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. She has interest in maternal and newborn health, childhood vaccination, nutrition and obesity, and developmental outcomes of children.
